The Story of the "The Flag"
"The Flag" was written in December 2007 ...
After watching a news interview by Sean Hannity talking to
people on the street about what America meant to them
and its many freedoms etc.. One young man replied that he
didn't owe his country anything because what had his
country ever done for him?
Going from shock, sadness to disbelief Jeff went to the
back room and started writing this song. A little later he
was joined by Steve, they fine tuned it, arranged and with
the strong feelings they both share, came up with . . .
"THE FLAG" !
The song talks about American values, the Pledge of
Allegiance with its under God line, patriotism, the many
precious things about our culture & its' many freedoms.

"Progress Ain't for Me" { Keep the Change ! } is a satirical debate between a
conservative & a leftist. After all this seriousness on such important matters, it seemed time for some
comic relief. It takes a few jabs at those that would destroy real democracies last stand, in effect....
The United States Constitution. (Still in post production)
The Ridlers writings of “The Flag,” "American Made," "History Repeats Itself" & "Progress Ain't for Me"
were inspired in large part, by a nasty remark about America from a young man, while he was interviewed on the
street by pro-American “SEAN HANNITY”. This, along with Jeff & Steve Ridlers own
feelings about America, compelled them to write this compilation to try to help our country.
These songs spell much of their beliefs in real free democracy.
One of Jeff & Steves biggest influences is “Charlie Daniels”, seen above when “The Ridler Brothers”
played their first concert with Daniels, in the early 90s.
Along with Charlie, Jeff & Steve in the picture above are guitarists Darren Wayne & James Michael Thomas.
Both brothers say they can’t ever recall meeting a more decent, down to earth man than Daniels, even with the
dozens of major stars they’ve performed with. They were impressed that the living legend, super talented
singer/writer/musician was so humble & just plain friendly while visiting a bunch back stage, prior to stepping out
for a quick photo opt. Jeff & Steve also say while creating the minor chord arrangement of
“The Flag” (the Carolina cut), they couldn’t help but think of Daniels haunting 80s hit “Still in Saigon”
